Is Agafay a Sahara sand-dune trip?

Agafay is a rocky desert near Marrakech. This excursion does not reach the Sahara dunes of Merzouga or Erg Chigaga and has no overnight camp stay.

Are meals and a camel ride included?

A simple traditional breakfast and mint tea are included. Lunch and other personal drinks are separate. A camel ride needs a specific arrangement and price in your quote.

Agafay and the Atlas valleys: the day’s route

Leave Marrakech for Agafay, where open, rocky terrain creates a very different landscape from the city. Continue to Lake Lalla Takerkoust, then towards Moulay Brahim and the Kik Plateau. The route continues through the Asni area before reaching the Ourika Valley.

In Ourika, allow time for lunch near the river at your own expense and a visit to the Setti Fatma area. Discuss any waterfall walk with your guide before starting: the distance and time should suit your group and the conditions that day. Visiting every waterfall is not part of a guaranteed programme. Return to Marrakech after the valley visit.

The valley route involves several road sections. Confirm the stop order, walking plan and pickup time when booking. Imlil, Ait Souka and a camel ride are not listed as included stops or activities in this route; if you want any of these, ask for a revised itinerary and quote.

Booking and Payment

A deposit of 40% of the total tour price is required to confirm the booking. The remaining 60% balance must be paid no later than 15 days before departure.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, please inform Alternative Desert Morocco as soon as possible.

More than 30 days before departure:	The 40% deposit is retained, and a €15 administration fee applies. Alternatively, you may postpone your trip free of charge for up to one year.
30 to 15 days before departure:	50% of the deposit paid is retained.
Less than 15 days before departure:	The entire deposit paid is retained.

If the trip is postponed, the deposit will be held and applied towards the rescheduled stay for up to one year.
