Morocco Sahara Desert Tours from Casablanca
Start in Casablanca and choose a private desert journey around your available days and departure airport. Our routes combine the dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga with mountain roads, kasbahs and, on longer itineraries, Morocco’s imperial cities. The key choice is whether you need to return to Casablanca or finish in Marrakech.
Compare the Casablanca desert itineraries
The comparison below follows the day-by-day programmes. Merzouga is the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes; they are part of the same desert stop. A longer tour does not automatically mean more nights in the Sahara.
On a small screen, swipe the comparison sideways to see every column.
| Tour | Route and nights | Finish | Choose it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 days via Midelt and Ouarzazate | Midelt → Merzouga → Ouarzazate / Aït Ben Haddou area. Three nights, including one desert camp night. | Casablanca, day 4 | A compact Sahara round trip with substantial driving; no Fes city visit. |
| 7 days via Fes and Merzouga | Rabat → Meknes → Fes → Midelt → Merzouga → Ouarzazate. Six nights, including one desert camp night. | Marrakech, day 7 | Imperial cities and the Sahara on a journey between two airports. |
| 12 days: imperial cities and Sahara | Fes sightseeing, Merzouga, Skoura, Aït Ben Haddou, Marrakech and Ourika. Eleven nights, including one desert camp night. | Marrakech airport, day 12 | Dedicated sightseeing days in Fes and Marrakech as well as the desert. |
The four-day route is a road journey with long travel days, rather than a short transfer to the dunes. The seven-day itinerary includes a Fes visit before continuing to Midelt on day 4; the twelve-day itinerary has a full Fes sightseeing day. Match the tour to your flights
Send your arrival date, landing time and departure airport before confirming the route. The seven- and twelve-day programmes begin with airport pickup in Casablanca and finish in Marrakech. A return to Casablanca would need a different transfer arrangement; it should not be assumed to be part of those itineraries. Confirm the first night’s location and any arrival-day visits against your flight time.
If both flights use Casablanca, start with the four-day round trip and discuss the pace and any extra nights you need. If you can arrive in Casablanca and leave from Marrakech, the seven- or twelve-day routes avoid adding a return journey purely to reach the original airport. Do not plan an international flight around an unconfirmed final road-transfer time.
What to confirm in your private quote
The vehicle, accommodation category, camp facilities, meals and guided visits should be specified for your chosen itinerary. Tell us your group size, children’s ages, luggage and preferred pace. Ask which visits have a local guide, which entrance fees are separate, and whether the camp transfer is by camel or another agreed arrangement. A private vehicle does not make every monument or accommodation exclusive to your party.
Request a Casablanca desert tour quote with your dates, preferred route and final airport. If your journey starts elsewhere, compare Sahara tours from Marrakech or desert tours from Fes.
Desert tours and other Casablanca departures
The tour cards below also include a five-day imperial-cities itinerary and a seven-day Chefchaouen itinerary. Choose these for a city-focused journey; do not assume that every Casablanca departure includes a Sahara camp. An eighteen-day imperial-cities and Sahara programme is also listed for a longer trip. Open the individual itinerary before choosing.
