Booking the 4-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour starts with fitting its overnight stops into your wider holiday. The published ADM programme leaves Marrakech, stays in the Dades Valley and at a Merzouga desert camp, reaches Fes on day three and uses day four for Fes sightseeing. It ends in Fes.
This guide covers the decisions to settle before paying: your arrival in Marrakech, accommodation for each night, pickup and the final transfer. For the places visited each day, see the full Marrakech to Fes tour itinerary.
Put the four tour days into your holiday calendar
Keep your arrival day separate from the tour’s first day when planning flights. The tour page currently lists arrival at the meeting point by 07:45 for an 08:00 departure. Confirm that schedule for your booking; an incoming flight on the same morning leaves little room for delays or the journey to the pickup point.
Use the table below to check every night. In particular, arrival in Fes on day three creates an accommodation requirement before the day-four visit. Ask for that stay to be described explicitly rather than assuming a general accommodation label covers it.
On a small screen, swipe the table sideways to read all columns.
| When | Published programme | What to arrange |
|---|---|---|
| Before day 1 | The tour starts in Marrakech. | Arrange your Marrakech accommodation and agree on the pickup point. |
| Night 1 | Guesthouse stay in the Dades Valley. | Check the named accommodation, room arrangement and meals in your quotation. |
| Night 2 | Desert camp near Merzouga after the camel trek. | Confirm the camp, tent category and any alternative to the camel trek. |
| Night 3 | You have arrived in Fes; sightseeing follows on day 4. | Confirm who books and pays for the Fes accommodation and which meals it includes. |
| Day 4 and afterwards | Fes sightseeing, then a hotel or airport transfer. | Match the visit and transfer to your onward plans; add a night if needed. |
Agree on a precise Marrakech pickup
Send your hotel or riad name and address with the enquiry. If the vehicle cannot reach the entrance, ask for a meeting point you can identify, the time to be there and the contact to use if you cannot find the driver. Clarify who handles any walk between your accommodation and the vehicle, especially if you have several bags.
A pickup from Marrakech airport is a different arrangement from departure at a city accommodation. If you need it, give your flight details and request confirmation of the timing and any cost. Do the same for an extra hotel night before departure.
Protect the Fes sightseeing day
The published day-three arrival is late afternoon, after the drive from Merzouga through the Ziz Valley and Midelt towards Fes. Treat it as an itinerary estimate. Avoid relying on it for a tightly timed train or flight connection.
Day four includes Fes sightseeing followed by a transfer to your hotel or Fes airport. Share your onward departure time before the visit is arranged. An early flight can conflict with the sightseeing programme, so ask for a revised schedule before booking. If you stay longer, confirm the hotel drop-off and whether any later airport transfer is a separate service.
If your holiday must finish in Marrakech, compare the desert routes departing from Marrakech. This booking does not include a return to Marrakech. Our guide to choosing a four-day Marrakech–Fes itinerary explains the difference between using the fourth day in Fes and requesting more time near the dunes.
Check accommodation, meals and guiding together
The tour lists a private vehicle with driver, guesthouse accommodation on half-board, a camel trek and a desert camp night. Request a night-by-night quotation with the accommodation names or categories, room or tent arrangements and meals. Include the Fes stay in that check.
Lunches, drinks, site entrance fees, tips and personal expenses are listed separately from the tour price. Ask which visits you are expected to pay for and whether any requested upgrade changes the total. For the Fes visit, confirm local guide arrangements and the available language; having a private driver does not define every guided visit.
Tell us what could change the daily pace
Share the children’s ages, room needs, preferred walking pace and any practical difficulty with steps, vehicle access or the camel trek. Ask which adaptations are available. A private booking allows a discussion about the schedule, but an extra stop or a different overnight stay needs a revised plan.
Once the route is agreed, use the Marrakech to Fes packing checklist to organise luggage for the drive, camp and city visit. Check the weather for the overnight locations close to departure and discuss any route changes with the operator.
Questions before booking
Does the tour arrive in Fes on day three or day four?
The published itinerary reaches Fes on day three. Day four is the sightseeing day, followed by the agreed hotel or airport transfer.
Should I book my own Fes hotel for night three?
Check the quotation first. You need an overnight arrangement between arrival and sightseeing, but the accommodation, meals and responsibility for booking should be confirmed explicitly to avoid paying twice or leaving a gap.
Can I fly from Fes on the final day?
The itinerary offers a final airport transfer. Whether your flight leaves enough time for the planned visit depends on its departure time and the agreed schedule. Send the flight details before booking and confirm the transfer in writing.
Send the details needed for your quotation
Contact ADM with your dates and group size, Marrakech accommodation, room needs and intended Fes departure. Ask for the complete itinerary, each night’s accommodation, inclusions, total price, payment schedule and cancellation conditions in the same quotation.
