Your journey begins at 8:00 a.m. with departure from your accommodation in Marrakech. Travel across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying views of mountain villages and changing landscapes along the way.

Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch and a visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt. In the afternoon, travel through the palm groves of Skoura and the Dades Valley before reaching Tinghir.

Dinner and overnight in Tinghir.

Day 2: Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Tazzarine – N’Kob – Agdez

After breakfast, head to the Todra Gorges, where towering rock walls frame a narrow canyon. Take time to appreciate the scenery before continuing through Tazzarine and N’Kob towards Agdez.

Arrive in the Draa Valley, a region of palm groves, traditional earthen villages and historic kasbahs. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short walk through the palm grove.

Dinner and overnight in Agdez.

Day 3: Agdez – Zagora – Tamegroute – Erg Chegaga

After breakfast, follow the Draa Valley south towards Zagora. Continue to Tamegroute to discover its traditional pottery workshops, historic Koranic library and covered passageways.

The journey continues by 4×4 into the desert, crossing rocky plains, smaller dunes and stretches of sparse vegetation before reaching the sweeping dunes of Erg Chegaga.

Enjoy a camel ride at sunset, followed by dinner and an evening around the campfire beneath the desert sky.

Overnight in a private tent at the desert camp. The standard camp provides shared toilets and showers; a luxury camp upgrade is available on request.

Day 4: A Full Day at Erg Chegaga

Spend the day discovering the desert at a relaxed pace. After breakfast, an optional guided walk offers an opportunity to explore the dunes and appreciate the surrounding landscape.

Day 5: Erg Chegaga – Lake Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, depart by 4×4 across the dry bed of Lake Iriqui, following desert tracks along sections of the former Paris–Dakar Rally route.

Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Ounila Valley – Telouet – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its earthen architecture and film history.

Booking and Payment

A deposit of 40% of the total tour price is required to confirm the booking. The remaining 60% balance must be paid no later than 15 days before departure.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, please inform Alternative Desert Morocco as soon as possible.

More than 30 days before departure: The 40% deposit is retained, and a €15 administration fee applies. Alternatively, you may postpone your trip free of charge for up to one year.
30 to 15 days before departure: 50% of the deposit paid is retained.
Less than 15 days before departure: The entire deposit paid is retained.

If the trip is postponed, the deposit will be held and applied towards the rescheduled stay for up to one year.
